Requirements

• Must be at least 14 years of age
• Live no more than 7 driving miles of the main station
• Have "C" average on last report card
• Pass a Drug Screen and Background Check (Paid for by department)

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Live within 11 driving miles of the main station
• Pass a Drug Screen and Background Check (Paid for by the department)

• Must possess NC OSFM Firefigher Certification
• Must be County First Responder or possess NC OEMS Certification
• Preferred NC DMV Class B Operators License

 An associate member is defined as any member or potential member who does not meet the living requirements stated in the department by-laws and who holds the appropriate credentials stated in this document. These members are required to serve the department through staffing station duty crews.   Requirements: 

• Must possess NC OSFM Firefighter Certification 
• Must be 18 years of age 
• Must possess a North Carolina Driver's License
